All About Rain

In January 2010, I was relieved of my job without anyone asking if I thought I needed relief from it. To say the least, I was shocked, disappointed, horrified, offended, angry and extremely hurt. And I felt completely alone.

When It Rains, an involuntary undertaking in unemployment, is about coming to grips with not working and all the emotions, confusion, heartache and often basic things that goes with it. Unemployed at one time of my life described me. While it no longer does, I kept the url for this blog in my name because the experience, hard though it was, reshaped many aspects of my life and that would ultimately come to define the person I am today.
The blog is about the journey of figuring out how to cope with being unemployed and then how to believe in yourself again when you do find a job. It is my first blog and each post is a very private part of me which has been shared publicly, with the hope that perhaps it can help you through what was one of the most difficult experiences of my life.

I highly recommend starting with Unemployment 101, you're not alone and glancing over It's Hunting Season but I hope you enjoy the entire blog for what it is.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Whether you came here intentionally or by accident, I hope you take the time to look around. While it may not apply to you, it may still inspire you. If you or someone close to you is currently unemployed, I am sorry. I confess I don’t often post on this blog anymore. But I have kept it active with the sincere hope that many will still find comfort and perhaps courage in it.

They say, into every life a little rain must fall and I assure you, fall it will. Should that torrential downpour in your life be due to the loss of a job, may this blog offer you some shelter, when it rains.
